Brando

I have had Brando for 3 months. He has brought me so much joy. At first, there was some problems with housebreaking. But he was in a different place and we live different hours then he was use to. It did not upset me, but William was unhappy. It's been over 20 years since I have had to teach housebreaking, but we were walking him about every 2 hours. And I rewarded him with a treat when he did his business when I walked him. It did not last long.

My house is small, but he found his bed right way, inside my bedroom. Then he found his food and water in the kitchen. He is very spoiled. I let him up on my bed quite often. He was jumping up so I taught him that he could only come up when I invited him. That's only because my health is poor and he was jumping up on my legs. He sometimes sleeps on a foot stool that is in the living room and there is a pillow on the floor that he also sleeps on. He does not quite understand about toys, but even his mouth and teeth are bad, he does sometimes chew on a rawhide. He also like milk bones, even though it takes him a little while to chew up. He is fed dog food, but at
supper time, we give him a small amount of people food. When I am gone, he is very hyper when I come home. He is very attached to me. I love him so much. He likes my father very much and my father likes  him very much. Everyone thinks he is a little doll. He is learning to sit, stay and lay down. But I really let him get away with a lot. We don't have a  fenced in yard, but we walk him and he is not outside with out us. He hates the heat and loves the air conditioning. Over July 4th, he was very upset about the planes, air balloons and firecrackers. We gave him all the comfort we could. He does not like loud noises.

I really cannot tell you how happy I am that I got him. Know that you gave him to a very good home. I had to talk to William about dogs that are abused and neglected. Some dogs come thru it okay. But Brando is my 3rd adoption each one had some problems. I explained to him that he needed to be very kind and soft. When he met me, I had Gizmo and most of the kinks had been worked out. Gizmo was a year and 1/2 when I got him and lives to be 15. I can believe some of the things that people do to pets. I knew there was a problem, but when I watched animal planet, animal cops, I was shocked. I have had a dog since I was 4 years old and was taught how to treat a dog. Thank you for giving me Brando. He is setting next to me while I am writing this email. I hope you find homes for your other dogs. I don't think people should buy dogs when there is already so many that need good homes. When I was searching on Petfinder, I was also shocked to see so many dogs.
