Angelita is a mature dog with an awesome disposition and she is very obedient. She loves to be with people, in your room and/or at your feet but never pesters you for attention. Angelita likes to sleep with you on your bed or hang out with you on the couch, but has been trained to stay off the furniture so if you want her off, you just say “off.” Over the years Angel has developed some arthritis in one of her elbows but it doesn’t keep her from running, going up and down steps or jumping on furniture that isn’t real high.
If you want, you can give Angelita a simple command and a treat, and she will go right in a crate. She was taught this as a puppy but now we haven’t ever bothered to crate her because she is so good. She doesn’t chew on things, is housetrained and never gets on the counters. She was also taught to shake and sometimes she will smile.
Angelita loves to give and receive affection. She also loves to roughhouse with other dogs. And she can keep up with some of the puppies so she certainly doesn’t act like she is older! She has lived with three children that she has been very involved with so she is great with children but sometimes she doesn’t realize how much bigger she is with really young children and can accidentally step on their feet or come up to them a little fast and almost knock them over. She doesn’t ever jump on them though and also greets visitors very politely by keeping all four feet on the floor.
Nine years ago, Angelita was adopted from Animal Placement Bureau as a puppy, and unfortunately she is looking for a new home because her human family lost their home and Angelita was not able to move into the apartment with them. She will be a great dog for someone who is looking for a mature companion who has received and learned a lot of training and was always treasured as a very special, sweet companion dog.
