Hi, I'm Anya. I was in a shelter and my people never came for me. All I remember about my old life is that I've had lots of kids (as you can tell from my figure) and I was beat up a lot, I have scars to prove it...they were not nice to me. I didn't enjoy life.
I'm in my foster home now, and its very nice here, but I am still a little depressed, I'm working on getting over my memories from my old life.
My foster mom has been catering to me a lot to get me to come around... I like her, she's very nice, but I'm still sad.
I like to sleep a lot and I don't really care for 'socializing' with the family here...the bedroom is quiet and the bed is comfy, so I hang out in there ...alone.
Update 4-3-2008
I am feeling a little better today. I have eaten a few of my meals, but never finish them. I do enjoy all of the cookies tho, I will eat those every time. Foster mom hand feeds me, and that gets me to eat a little more, but I'm just not hungry most of the time. I fool mom, and I get happy at meal time, and I run to my dish, but then just pick thru it. Mom says I have to eat! I need to gain weight and energy, but I'm just not feeling it right now. I like to wander around outside and watch the farm animals, but they don't bother me and I don't bother them. Maybe when I am feeling better I might try to play more ...I hope.
I am mostly potty trained, but when I don't feel good, I don't hold it well...but I am working on it.
The other dogs here don't bother me and I don't bother them. The little one likes to climb on me, and sometimes I will snap to get him to leave me alone, but I don't want to be in any more fights!
There are cats here too, they are fine, I ignore them.
People are nice too, I'm not shy around people at all. I love it when I get attention, I wag my tail, I give kisses and I rub on people ...Foster Mom says "I'm coming around" and I guess that's good!
Anya is technically ready for adoption, but her personality has a lot of showing up still to do... we hope that in time, we will see more of the real her...if you think you can provide a loving and nurturing home for Anya, and help her come out of her shell, please email julemson@wmol.com
Update 4-16-2008
We can see the personality behind the dog now! Anya is really coming around! She loves to lounge in the sun, she REALLY enjoys her meals (with yummies added), shes great with the dogs and cats and farm critters, too! She will always be a quiet and reserved girl, but shes really starting to show her true colors...
