VA VA VA VOOMMMMMM......And he's OFFFFFF!
Atticus is totally terrier! Or Terror! Whichever you prefer! He is ALL PLAY ALL THE TIME. He is about 18 weeks old and weighs in at almost 20lbs, so he will be a medium sized dog. Approximate adult weight is expected to be about 50 lbs or maybe a little less.
This adorable pooch could be a wirehaired fox terrier mix or a boxer/schnauzer mix. Your guess is just about as good as ours! One thing for sure is....HE IS BEAUTFUL and FUN to have around.
Atticus is VERY confident and outgoing. He loves everyone and everything he meets. He is going to need a very active family with other pets and hopefully children. Daily walks/jogs/bike rides are going to be a must for this handsome fella. It is also going to be a condition of his adoption that he be enrolled in training classes or that his family have previous formal training experience using modern training methods (positive reinforcement only, no choke chains or prong collars).
Atticus is already crate trained and well on his way to being house trained. He will be neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped before going to his new family.
The most ideal situation for Atticus would be:
* A home where he could be gated off in the kitchen while he is continuing his potty training.
* Parents who can be home as often as possible or at least return home on lunch breaks to let him out to go "potty".
* A home with a fenced in yard to keep him safe and/or will keep him on a leash at ALL times when outside.
* Preferably a family with kids and another dog.
* A family who is active and will get Atticus out so he is well socialized and not fearful of things when he grows up.
* A home that is willing to buy him lots of chew toys (Kongs with peanut butter or cheese work wonderfully, as well as NylaBones!).
* A home that uses positive reinforcement training to deal with manners and house training.
If your family meets these requirements and you have room in your heart and home for Atticus, PLEASE fill out an adoption application at www.apbpets.com or contact: Hanaburgh@att.net with any questions. THANK YOU!
