Bernie is the craziest, "puppiest" puppy you've ever met packed in a big, clumsy, leggy package.  He's got a great temperament (although he can be a little stubborn) and doesn't have a mean bone in his body.  To be blunt, he's got a serious case of puppy ADHD and is rarely still and has always got his nose into the next object that he wants to explore.

He's a very high-energy, enthusiastic, bouncy, mouthy handful and will require an experienced, strong and PATIENT handler.  Obedience training is not recommended, it is REQUIRED for a dog like Bernie.  He's got the big smart poodle brain that can figure out ways to get into all sorts of mischief, but also has a very short attention span so you can easily distract him when he's gotten into something he shouldn't have.

Bernie needs:

  • A home with another large, energetic, playful dog to bash around with, and/or
  • A home that can run Bernie hard at least twice a day (otherwise he'll look for creative and sometimes destructive ways of releasing all that pent up poodle puppy energy.)
  • A home with NO cats or other small animals.
  • A home without small children (No kids under 11) because he's a big rough galoot when he's playing, not to mention clumsy and able to knock down small kids without meaning to do so.
  • A home with a good sized fenced in back yard to burn off some of that poodle puppy energy I keep bringing up.
  • A big crate that he can stay in when you're not home to keep him out of mischief.

While Bernie may be a handful now, with the right environment and training, he'll grow up to be an outstanding adult.  Are you the person for the job?
