The best guess on the breed of this handsome boy is lab and poodle mix. Since he was an unclaimed stray from a shelter, we don’t know for sure but he looks a lot like a mix of the same breeds that were in foster care about a year ago. While some of his hair is curly like poodle hair, he does shed like Labradors do.
Bracken can be fussy about which other dogs he gets along with but he plays really well with the dogs he makes “friends” with. We have not had him around any children but he loves all the adult humans he has met. With humans, he is “adoring” and affectionate. He may have experienced some abusive treatment because he will act very submissive if he hears someone raise their voice or raise their arms or hands quickly near him. But most of the time he is eager to please and loves to chase a ball or other toy that is thrown for him.
Bracken is crate trained and doing well on the housebreaking. He does need to be brought outside immediately after being let out of his crate though -- he is so overjoyed at greeting you that he will “forget” he needs to go outside and has had accidents before he remembers and gets out there in time.
