HI! My name is Callie Boo (cause I'm black, duh!) and I am SOOO lucky! I got lost and my people didn’t care to come save my life, so I just sat and sat in a cage at the shelter. I sat so long that the girls at the shelter really grew to be my friends. But, they got a call that said they were getting a bunch more dogs in, and they knew that I was taking up much needed space, so they had to put me on “the List” - that’s a bad list to be on if you’re a dog. Luckily, my new foster mom saw me on The List and came and saved me! WHEW! I was SO excited! Bouncing all over, pulling and tugging on the leash, I was panting soooo hard, I was just an excited mess!

But, they brought me home, and man oh man, I can dig this stuff! Living IN the house! Getting a couch to lay on, even though I prefer the floor in front of my new parents. I have cats to sniff, but they’re not real exciting, unless they run…that’s fun! I have other dogs to play with, but they’re kinda rude! I just walk away… They do make me sleep in a tiny version of the kennel I had at the shelter, they said it’s a crate and its my own bed. I make a little noise in it, but I'd say I do pretty well, as long as I can see my ‘family’ I tried to cry so they’d let me out…and they didn’t! So I just guess I have to be content to sleep by the bed in the crate. I suppose that’s do-able for a while!

I am potty trained too! I didn’t like that stuff in my kennel so I learned to hold it. I haven't had any accidents yet! I will potty on a leash even! I may tug on that leash at times, but hey, give a pup a break huh?

I keep getting told that I do need some manners, but geez, give me some time…This is a lot of new stuff to take in! I'm not allowed to get on the counter tops where food is, and I'm not allowed in the trash, where food is! I tried and tried the first couple days, but I don’t do it much at all now. I'm getting used to this stuff. Rules and all. Which, in my opinion is just silly!

I'm working on staying OFF. I jump on people when I'm super hyper or the door when my people go outside, but I got yelled at for that too!

When my people go outside I TRY to just stay sitting by the door, but sometimes I have to check on them and jump on the door to see out the windows!  I am trying to not worry about it so much…but how am I to know they aren’t leaving if I don’t check? They do take me bye-bye in the car and I LOVE IT! How relaxing!

My foster parents say I am a good family dog, to those who know dogs. Yes, I need some manners still, but we’re getting there. I need a firm leader who is gentle. I need a family to call my own. I LOVE kids! I may be a little rambunctious, but give me a break, I'm a baby too!

The only bad habit my foster parents have found is that when you go to grab my toy, I get very excited, thinking we’ll play, so I growl and get excited. I'm not saying “stay away or I’ll bite” no no no, I don’t bite! I just say “WHOO HOO, let's tug!” Mom says it's naughty to growl when taking toys…so we are working on that. I just get so gosh darned excited! I LOVE my Frisbee, I love to have it thrown, but I also like to tug. Mom says we have to work on that too!

I am not for the first time dog owner, not unless you plan to learn a lot, along with me, by a trainer. I sure would love to do some obedience classes! Foster mom says I am a very quick learner, and that someday I’ll be amazing!

I do need exercise, but not a ton, I'm active, but not freaky! I'm super submissive with dogs, and I'm very happy with everyone I meet! People are very cool!

When you are looking for a new dog, please come meet me! I would love to show off my stuff, you can email julemson@wmol.com for more info about little ole me!
