Chunk is a 7 year old boy with a sweet disposition. He loves to be with people, in your room and/or at your feet. Several years ago he actually slept in his family's bed, but he outgrew that so he doesn't go on beds or couches anymore. In fact, Chunk kind of has a hard time getting up in a small car because of his chest-size-to-leg-height ratio.
Chunk is crate trained with a simple command and a treat, but as a mature boy, he will likely not require crating in his new home. He is smart and has a few tricks up his sleeve like rolling over! And he does smile! Chunk needs to be walked regularly (once a day) for true happiness. Otherwise, he doesn't spend a lot of time outside and would likely do well with or without a fenced yard.
Chunk loves to give and receive affection and likes to roughhouse with the guys! He has lived with a four-year child that he has been very tolerant of (although you can never be too careful with kids any dog, so there was always careful supervision). Chunk just doesn't know his own size, but he's really very good with kids. He also lived with a cat earlier in his life and they did well together.
Chunk is not much of a jumper, as previously implied, but he does have a bark that will let you know someone is there. And despite his gentle personality, he is scary looking enough that he provides protection - by looks alone! Then he's all waggy to the affectionate friend and just wants to sniff.
Chunk was adopted from APB as a puppy seven years ago, and unfortunately he is looking for a new home because his human family has split up and Chunk is not able to get as much exercise and attention as his family knows that he needs. If you have any specific questions about Chunk, please email
