Corey

Breed: Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler mix
DOB: 2007
Sex: Neutered male
Weight: 52 pounds
Foster home: Cheryl P.
043-08

Corey has a lush, shiny coat with bright eyes.  He has brown merle feet.  He is about half the size of an adult male of any of his possible mixes and much calmer than any of them. The Retriever comes out in his soft, lush fur, his low-key personality and his spotted tongue.

Corey’s past is not known although someone took time to usher him from puppy-hood into a well-behaved youngster.  He knows “sit”, “no” and “outside”.  He is very house-broken, able to go through a long day while his foster mom is at work without having an accident.  He sits quietly waiting for his breakfast and dinner and, eager as he is, he knows to sit patiently for his treats too.

Corey gets along well with other dogs. He loves to play.  He is so sweet that he’ll let other dogs take his food and chewies without blinking an eye.  He likes best to be with his person……laying beside his person’s chair, following his person around, licking his person’s hand and laying on the floor beside his person’s side of the bed.  He’d do well in a family with other dogs or he’ll be equally happy without them.  He’s a gentle guy.

He doesn’t like his crate; at first, letting out a horrible wail when left in one however, he quiets down and resigns himself to waiting.  He doesn’t really need a crate though.  His foster mom has left him alone for 8-10 hours and he hasn’t had an accident or destroyed anything.  He is very well behaved…..but still learning leash skills.

He might be too eager for children under 5 y.o. and cats.  He would be too eager with cats for sure.  He’d love to chase and wrestle with a cat.  Great fun but the cat wouldn’t agree.
