You might ask,
what is so special about Cubby? Well I will tell
you!
This silly
little boy is very playful with other dogs, doggie toys and sometimes
with humans. He is not demanding for attention,
though. In fact, sometimes if you call him and try
to give him attention, he is so funny with the way he will “wiggle” up
to you, almost walking sideways and wagging his tail but trying to
pretend that he really doesn’t care if he gets attention or not.
But you can almost see the smile on his face as he seems to be
thinking, “I am going to play a hard-to-get game with this human because
I know she will laugh at me!”
Cubby likes to hear human laughter probably because he had a
rough “childhood”. His previous owner was getting
ill when he came along so he received very little attention and
kindness. In fact, he still has a small scar on the
top of his head from an injury that happened during this time.
So, at first he was really scared of people but he was young and
it didn’t take him long to see how much the other dogs liked human
attention. He soon learned that he liked to be
petted and hugged and given doggie treats.
Cubby didn’t have a clue about
not pottying in the house when he first came here.
But now, even though he tends to forget about going outside once in a
while, if he is told “No. Go outside”, he is quick
to RUN to the door to make his foster people happy!
He is use to having a fenced yard and hasn’t had much experience in
walking on a leash so he will require some work to get used to that.
