Cynder Ella hasn't had the easiest life up until now... I first met this nice young girl last October in the shelter... At the time I didn't have any room for another foster, but was asked to come meet her just to see what I thought about her chances for adoption were. Cynder was very shy at the shelter and just quietly sat at the back of her kennel... when I met her she simply rolled over and let me pet her belly... I was happy to hear very soon after that Cynder was placed in a local day care as a foster... this meant that she would spend her days playing with other dogs while she waited for her forever home to come along.. not long after I heard more good news... Cynder was adopted and had found her new home... So you see, I was surprised when I saw Cynder show back up on the shelter web site as needing a new home... I inquired about her status and was told she had been returned to the day care, and then back to the shelter... Again I went in to meet Cynder as I had been told she wasn't doing very well in the shelter... This time when I met her, she cowered in a corner and just shook... after about 20 min she would let me pet her without trying to get away but she was visibly uncomfortable.. I left that day and made arrangements to pick her up in a few days... When I went back she was less fearful of me, but still very, very shy... I mentally prepared myself for a project dog and leashed her up and put her in the car... That was the last time I saw that fearful dog.

Once Cynder came into my home she excitedly greeted the other dogs and picked up a toy to let me know she was ready to play... she wasn't going to waste any more of her life being scared... Cynder is perfectly house trained, she gets along great with other dogs, and is fine with cats... despite her fearfulness in the shelter she has never shown any sign of aggression... Cynder is a very sweet girl and she is very gentle with everyone.. she even quietly sits and waits for her dinner... somewhere along the lines she has learned very good manners.  Cynder would benefit from an obedience class as she does pull on the leash some... (could have just been excitement to leave the shelter!)

Cynder would probably do best in a home where she is not left alone for hours.. and at the very least she would do best with another dog to keep her company. A fenced yard would definitely be a plus for her... so that she can freely run and play. Given that she is a greyhound mix it is important to know she will need to be leashed whenever she is not contained within a fence.

Cynder is going to be a really nice dog for almost any family... she is happy and loving and a wonderful easy girl to have around. Please consider helping Cynder Ella find the fairy tale life she deserves...e-mail julemson@wmol.com for more info!
