Dixie

(what do these pictures mean?)

Breed: Bloodhound
DOB: 1999
Sex: Spayed female

Weight: 118 pounds - on a diet!
Foster home: Christine
332-06

Dixie is a sweet and lazy old bloodhound who is a lay at your feet kind of dog. Although she loves to get petted, go for walks, and take rides in the car, her VERY favorite things to do are eat and sleep! Dixie does well with all dogs she has met and she tolerates even the rowdy ones, although she is protective of her food around other dogs and must be fed separately. She has also lived with cats and does fine with them too!

Dixie has always lived indoors, and came to APB when her owner had to move from a house to an apartment and couldn't bring Dixie along. She is totally house trained and does not need to be crated. However, she will counter surf shamelessly when home alone and has a knack for getting items that her foster mom was sure were out of her reach, so her new family might want to keep her in a bedroom or other comfortable area where no food is available. Dixie is used to sleeping on the couch or in bed, and being a bloodhound it's her will to do so.

Although Dixie is a large dog, she is not very active, and a small fenced yard or regular leash walks would meet her exercise requirements. Dixie will also need routine ear cleaning and maintenance to keep them free from infection.
