Breed: Shih Tzu
DOB: 8-1-1998
Sex: Neutered male
Weight:
19 pounds
Foster home: Julie
079-09

I wasn’t brought to a shelter because I was a naughty dog.  I am a good boy most of the time.  Although my foster mom says I shouldn’t guard my food dish from the other dogs because some of them like to share.  And she tells me there is always plenty of food -- but I like to eat from the dish by myself so I get a little cranky if other dogs get too close.  I don’t think that is asking too much!

Anyway, I was brought to the shelter because my owners couldn’t afford to keep me anymore.  They lost their jobs and just didn’t have the extra money for my vet care and grooming.  I had fleas pretty bad and I was scratching so I do have some funky skin things going on but they are getting much better.

I am use to other dogs and get along with them really well other than this little quirk of mine with a food dish.  In fact, sometimes I will curl up in a doggie bed or on a chair with another small dog – I don’t mind sharing sleeping space!

I would be an easy dog to adopt.  I don’t need to be crated because I don’t get into things that I shouldn’t, I don’t chew on anything and I am housebroke.  In fact, when I need to go outside, if you don’t notice me, I will bark at you to remind you that it is time and I need to go!  And I am a little larger than most typical shih tzus but that just means I am nice and sturdy and not fragile.

The only “medical” issues I have is that I do have an allergy to fleas and I have a scar on one of my eyes from an ulcer.  Otherwise I am pretty healthy and spunky yet for a gentleman my age.  Give me a chance to live with you!  You will really like me!
