Indiana is a wonderful sweetheart and endearingly quirky.  She is crate trained, house trained, and is up to date on all her vaccinations.  I say she is quirky as on the one hand, she appears to think of herself as quite the Princess.  Her crate is twice the size that is needed and she loves it (that castle feel) and she seems to have quite an affinity for male humans (perhaps waiting for her knight in shining armor).  On the other hand, Indy needs to be in the same room with you at all times and is horribly afraid of thunderstorms, to the point that it is necessary to crate her during a thunderstorm to keep her safe.  Indy was a stray dog and I believe she has lived on the street and has not had a stable home since then, so trust is not something that comes easily for her.  She has been with me for 3 months and she has JUST started trusting that I will actually feed her every day and Indy can now sit in a room or the hallway close to where I am without actually being in the same room (this is a major step!)

Indy is a very happy girl and she doesn’t ask for anything beyond being fed regularly and having some human attention when requested.  She will do anything asked of her for a treat.  She is extraordinarily camera shy though, so I am thinking she either feels having her photo taken is beneath her or she is running from the law!

While she does sleep with me from time-to-time, Indy has a small bed on the floor and I often find her there during the day.  She gets along with most other dogs but isn’t interested in actually playing with canines.  She has some beloved toys that she enjoys having thrown for her or she can simply carry them around and have them close.  I believe she would enjoy older children, but she can get excited while playing and is very strong for her size.  Indy could use some positive reinforcement training while walking as she can pull, but she currently has a large fenced yard which she loves.  She barks at motorcycles, but she doesn’t respond to police, fire or ambulances.  Indy talks to me when she feels it is important, which is very sweet.  Watching her proud prance through the yard is a joy and it always surprises me how fast she can run.

Indiana is looking for her own family who will adore her in the fashion she deserves and in return, she will reward you with years of loyalty, laughter and joy!  If you have any specific questions about Indiana, please email hanaburgh@att.net.
