Update 8-3-11:

Kingston has been medically released from follow-up care - he's ready for adoption! Please fill out an application to bring this fabulous boy home.

ER Update:

Poor Kingston was having difficulty walking and was recently diagnosed with a dip in his tibia and also a cruciate ligament tear.  Both of these were causing him great difficulty in walking, but were also causing excruciating pain.  He recently underwent a procedure called a Tibia Plateau LevelingOsteotomy, or TLPO, to stabilize his leg, and the cruciate ligament tear was also repaired at the same time.  Kingston recovered very well from these procedures but now needs to have the same done to his other leg (genetics, ughh!). He has remained happy and carefree throughout this whole ordeal, but we need to finish "fixing" him so that he can be the boy who runs, plays, and stands on his head.  His first surgery costs were quite steep, and now we need to raise even more money so that he can have the second surgery. Any contribution that you could make towards his care would be greatly appreciated.  If you have any questions about his progress, please feel free to email julemson@wmol.com

Update 11/21/10:

Kingston is recovering and is right on schedule with healing since his surgery. Unfortunately with the type of surgery that he had done, Cruciate Ligament tears can occur in the other leg, and he is already showing signs that this may have happened. We haven't raised enough money yet to cover his first surgery and now need to raise even more to cover a potential second surgery. Any and all donations to help pay for Kingston's medical bills would be greatly appreciated!

Update 5/10/11:

Kingston had his surgery in March and it went well. Unfortunately he did have a set back almost 3 weeks after his surgery where his body was trying to reject the steel plate that was attached to his Tibia bone. This caused him a lot of pain and he stopped putting any weight on his leg. After being on antibiotics for over a month he is recovering again, and is walking more on his leg. As of today he still isn't where he should be in his recovery but the surgeon has confidence that he will continue to improve, and will be back to pain free life shortly.

Update 7/21/11:

Kingston ended up having surgery on 7/19 to remove his TPLO plate because his body continued to try to reject it, causing him a lot of pain. His bones had fully healed from the original TPLO surgery so the plate was not needed anymore. Within two days of removing it, he is walking better than before and even wanting to run and play. The surgeon feels that Kingston should make a full recovery and get back to living a pain free life.

Original bio:

Hi! My name is Kingston! I'm a very happy boy who would like to find a home of my own. Don't get me wrong, I love my foster mom and fur siblings, but it's time to move on to make someone else happy with my silliness.

I love to cuddle with my foster mom. My foster mom keeps telling me that I'm too big to be a lap dog but I think that I fit just fine. So she is squished a little bit! Geesh! I also cuddle with my fur siblings and I usually plop right on top of them, or just squeeze in between them. I'm no dummy, they're warm!

Not only do I love to cuddle but I like giving and getting kisses. If your face is anywhere near my face, I will wash it clean! I also like having my tummy rubbed (okay...whole body), standing on my head, and learning new things. Yes, I stand on my head when I get in silly moods, which is everyday. I stick my butt in the air and squirm all over. Everyone looks so funny to me when I do this!

I am looking for a home with fun people. I have a lot of energy and love to play, but I'm also a pretty laid back dude. I walk pretty well with a leash but still need more practice. I'm also very good with sharing my toys! I am crate trained and potty trained. I mean, hello....potty on the floor? That's for babies! I'm a big boy!

I love kids and big people, dogs, and cats. I like to do puppy pounces towards the cat who lives with me. That's all I do to her though because she makes funny noises at me if I get too excited (I think that she has an air leak!) and smacks me on my face. My foster mom says that I could live with another dog as long as she is a girl dog (Woohoo! A girlfriend!). I don't care if there's another dog or not as long as I get lots of loves!

Please Note: Kingston will be not adopted outside the state of Michigan.
