HI! I’m Odie, just like Garfield’s Friend. I don’t have any cat friends; they don’t like me…I like them! But…what’s a guy to do. :(
I was stuck in a shelter for too long. They even thought I was an old man because I just hated it there, I acted very sad and lethargic. Now that I’m in a foster home, I am SO happy! My foster mom says of all the dogs she’s fostered, I am the easiest one ever! I am an easygoing, happy go lucky guy. I LOVE to nap. It’s my favorite part of the day. I am just a ‘chill’ kinda guy. I’m perfect for older folks, I’m perfect for families, I’m just perfect all around.
I am potty trained and I’m crate trained and I am leash trained.
I’m social, but not overly so, with everyone I meet. I dig having dog friends, but don’t really need them. I like toys, and I even like the toys that other dogs have already. Its not like I’m going to fight over them, but I’ll play tug until I get sleepy. I may growl at a dog if they try to eat my dinner or take MY toys, but that’s about as far as I take it. I sure don’t growl at my foster family.
My foster mom says I have one, maybe two, downfalls. 1-I don’t do stairs…yet…I can do like 5, but no way am I going all the way up the ones that lead to the bedroom…no way, that’s STEEP! And coming down...that's even more scary, what if I fell?! I much prefer just to be carried.
And downfall #2 is that I don’t really “listen” when you call me…so I have to be on a leash or in a fenced yard…for now. No one ever taught me to “come” like those other dogs do…I think I understand it, but it’s going to take me some time to actually get used to stopping whatever I’m doing and COME when called. When I’m ready though, I come FAST! I don’t like getting left behind either. Outside is fun…I like sniffing things, I like to lay in the sun, and I LOVE naps in the yard. There’s kids on the other side of the fence too, they’re fun to watch.
So, if you are looking, and I Hope you are, for a nice mellow easy going pup to love on for the next 10 or more years…Please fill out an application. You can also email julemson@wmol.com and get more info on little ole me!
