Hi. I'm Penelope Pitstop. Crazy
name, huh? I got it because my temporary human had to pick me up on the
fly late on Thanksgiving night and literally made a quick pit stop to
get me--that and she likes naming dogs after obscure '70's cartoon
characters. According to her, I'm one of the most easy going,
sweetest, best puppy-girls she's ever gotten to take care of!
I'm house broke and pretty
quiet (until my engines get revved up) and I love to cuddle and kiss
human noses. If I'm not in your lap or lounging in my crate, you'll
probably find me sitting high up on the back of a soft couch or chair
keeping guard over our kingdom,
I'm more than crate
trained--I actually crate myself before bedtime without being asked and
I even go and wait there and laugh at everybody while the human has to
start chasing the other naughty dogs around to get them in their crates
before she leaves To tell you the truth, I don't really even need
crated because I'm so good, but I LIKE my crate and it's the place I go
and chill out if I need to do some heavy thinking or if there's too much
commotion going on and I'm not in the mood.
That doesn't mean I don't
play well with others though. I'm great with other dogs and like to
play and chase and roughhouse a lot so any new dog friends that I'll
have at your house should probably be sturdy enough to take my
20-solid-pounds of romp and wrestle. I may not be a good fit with
teensy dogs though (I'm a little TOO much for the 6 lb. sissies I'm
living with right now). Oh, and cats--there's a pretty good chance
that I'll chase and tease them, but I'm not living around any right now
so the temporary human's not really sure..
Kids--They're terrific and
I'd love to have my own some day. Toddlers may be too small for my
bounces and body slams if you can't watch us close though,. And most of
the time if you offer me a treat and tell me to sit, I'll "take it
nice", but if there's another dog around, WATCH your fingers!!!
I'll do best with an active
family and when I get my leash on I want to go, Go, GO!!! The T.H.
keeps telling me I have to learn to stop pulling on the leash so much,
but she needs to wise up because if she'd hurry it up and keep up with
me she'd be much happier and enjoy our walks so much more. Don't be
fooled when you first meet me and for the first week or two that I live
with you--I'm not the couch potato you may think I am. Give me a
little time to adjust and I'll be revving my engines and zooming around
the house like Danica Patrick . . . VROOOMMMMMMMM! E-mail
