Rilla

Breed:  Yorkshire Terrier
DOB:
2005
Sex:
Spayed female
Weight:
5 pounds
Foster home: Lisa
024-12

Rilla is not a good candidate for homes with children under the teenage years, and applications that have young children will not be considered.

Rilla was found as a “stray” outside a shelter. She is probably a dumped breeding dog. Rilla can be shy with new people,  but is happy and playful when she warms up to them. She’s good with other dogs, and recently begun to play with some of the small dogs in her foster home. Rilla has also started to actively seek out attention, and will sit with you on the couch if there's a spot!

Rilla has absolutely no concept of housetraining. Her foster home has been working with her on pottying outside, and using pee pads, but her success rate is less than 50% at this point. It is possible, given her size, breed, and unknown history, that she will never be fully housetrained.

There are no cats or children in her foster home, so we don’t know how she would be with them. Because Rilla is somewhat hand shy, and scared of new people - as well as her housetraining challenges - she would do best with a securely fenced yard.

Think Rilla is the girl for you? Fill out the application below, or email lisa@schnauzerama.org for specific questions.
