Rocky is only a year
old and has already been through a lot. He was hit by a car, and his
owners could not afford to pay for his medical treatment. The local
animal shelter stepped in and helped Rocky through two major surgeries.
Rocky is healthy and happy, but his left hip was damaged beyond repair
and he has a permanent limp. In the short time that he has been with
APB, he has been checked out by an orthopedic specialist who determined
that his leg is fine as is. It helps him balance and seems to be able
to bear more and more weight with each passing day.
Rocky is a happy,
playful puppy. Yes, he’s still a puppy even though he’s a year old! He
will need an adopter who has solid dog experience and can help him work
through his puppy and “teenage” years to become the great dog we know he
is destined to be. After all, he is part Boxer, and they are known to
be rather stubborn! Rocky is good with adults and with children, and he
gets along with other dogs and cats (he really likes to play!) Rocky is
housebroken and crate trained. As he loves to spend time playing
outside, Rocky needs to go to a forever home with a large, securely
fenced back yard.
