Some people like those little things that you can carry around and aren’t even as big as a cat. But for those of you who need something different, here is a REAL dog for you! While Sammer is definitely a gentle giant, he is also a typical Pyrenees and he can be independent, stubborn and selectively hard-of-hearing. If he is off leash and not in a fenced yard, he will take off to go exploring. In fact, sometimes if he is on leash and not in a fenced yard, he will gladly take you along on a walk for some exploring if you aren’t careful! If you are trying to get somewhere in the house and Sam happens to be in the way, you might have to wait a bit until he thinks he is ready to move. Sometimes I swear he is laughing at me because he starts wagging his tail but his legs aren’t even thinking of starting to move. He knows he is stronger than me and there is not a chance that I am going to physically move him.
Sam Man is a great dog, though. Most of the time he is happy to please you. He often comes to you for attention and loves the scratching and hugs. He gets along great with other dogs. When he met an aggressive medium dog, Sam just laid himself on top of the dog to let him know that he wasn’t going to get tormented into a fight.
If you think are interested in adopting Sammer, check out this web page – it is the perfect description of him!
