Skye

Breed: Siberian Husky
DOB: 2008
Sex: Neutered male
Weight:  pounds

Foster home: Sonya
136-09

Skye was born and raised to pull so when his new owners kept him in an apartment with no exercise, they quickly realized he wasn’t the dog for them.  After going to a shelter and becoming very depressed in a kennel, he is now with APB and loving life with his foster family!

Skye is a beautiful, smart and playful guy.  He loves to hang out with his foster family and their dogs.  He loves all dogs but can be too much for many dogs as his way of initiating play is mouthing others on their heads over and over again.  However, when he meets a dog that will put up with him they become great friends!  He also loves cats, but will chase if too excited and will mouth unsuspecting cats on the back.  Again, if the kitty will put up with him then everything is fine!

He is potty trained (when he doesn’t have a urinary tract infection) if he is supervised in the house and has frequent potty time outside.  He does need to be crated when left alone but besides some howling he does well in the crate, and even goes in willingly now!

He is not for first time dog owners due to his food/toy guarding.  He is improving rapidly with his foster family, but needs strict rules and boundaries all of the time.  He also needs to learn that he isn’t king of the world!  A strong leader that is willing to do a lot of exercise and training is what this wonderful pooch needs.  Please take the time to inquire about this great boy! E-mail julemson@wmol.com for questions about Skye!
