Bugsy

Breed: Pug
DOB: 8-15-2001
Sex: Neutered male
Estimated adult weight: 23 pounds
Foster home: Terrie & Tom
037-07

Bugsy is a sweet, loving, and happy fellow. He loves nothing better than sitting on your lap with his little head resting on your chest. He is housebroken, but he does mark on occasion.  We aren’t certain if this is a habit that he will break in a new environment.  Accidents are kept to a minimum by using “belly bands” overnight.  He is crate trained and he likes to eat in his crate.   Bugsy gets along with the other dogs and the cats in his foster home but can be a bit jealous of his humans.  Bugsy gets to sit on the furniture, sleep on the bed, and do pretty much whatever he wants since he causes hardly any problems. He is very “vocal” and barks more than any Pug his foster parents have had in their home.  For this reason, we are discouraging people who live in apartments or townhouses from considering him.  Bugsy is a bit insecure. He has had at least two homes in his young life, and his second owner didn’t care enough to come and get him out of the animal shelter. He is frightened easily if voices are raised, so he needs a home that can help him regain his trust in people. He needs a calm, peaceful environment. We are not sure how Bugsy is with children, but since he seems to like peace and quiet, we would prefer he go to a home with older children only. He likes to take walks and “go for a ride” in the car, an expression that always perks up his little ears. He will dance and prance for a dog cookie, and he loves to play with his soft squeaky toys. Bugsy needs a home with a fenced yard, or he needs to be taken on secure leash walks several times a day. Like any Pug, he needs a home with air conditioning.  Bugsy is near perfect, so we are looking for near perfect Pug owners for him (previous breed experience is a plus.)  If you are interested in Bugsy, please email lisa@schnauzerama.org
