Just wanted to give you an update on Candy. She is
doing terrific. She seems to have adjusted very well. She loves to lay
beside me in the recliner and sleep and get petted on. We call her our
little princess and Rosey is the Queen. But we do spoil her and make
sure she gets tons of attention and she enjoys it. She likes to lay on
the couch but she still won't get up on her own, we always have to help
her up or lift her up. We do encourage her because we are not fussy
about the dogs being on the furniture but you can tell she probably
never was allowed on furniture before, but now if we put her front paws
up she will sometime hop up on her own. She sleeps in my sons room in
her own little cozy dogie bed and will come up the stairs and go right
to her bed now. She still has her moments where she seems sad and will
just kind of set of to herself a little like she's not quite sure what
she should be doing with herself, but we will always call her over and
stroke on her a while. She has had some accidents cause she doesn't know
how to ask to go out but we are very gentle and patient with her and
make sure we let her out frequently. She seems to know the family
members pretty well now and is growing quite attached. She is so much
fun when I come home how she groans and makes these low pitched whines
while I pet her and greet her. It's like she is making up for a lot of
years where she didn't get this kind of love. Oh and she loves to go for
walks...that's her favorite thing to do
