Chrissy

Chrissy was sweet and dainty. She wasn't much for human contact though. Her life in a puppy mill did that to her. We will never know what conditions she lived in or how she was treated. She was used as breeding stock to have litter after litter of puppies until she was no longer useful. She came to APB and got all the veterinary care she needed including getting spayed, shots and teeth cleaning. She was treated for her heart murmur and dry eyes. Just recently we discovered she had an inoperable tumor. She was placed in a APB foster care home and was cared for and loved until she took her last breath when her kidneys gave out. She loved riding in cars, sleeping on my bed and eating lettuce. Although not affectionate, she followed me around the house from room to room. In her last few days she wanted to be up in my lap and she stayed there for a couple of hours. I think it was her way of thanking me for taking care of her and perhaps letting me know she loved me, too. When I think of her now I picture her running in the grass with her ears flying behind her and having fun chasing butterflies, finally released from the suffering she endured in her lifetime. Goodbye, little girl, I will miss you.
Cheryle T. Your forever foster mom
