Hi Shari,

Success Story:
Coal is a Big-Black-Beautiful German Shepherd dog. Don't let the looks fool you, he looks intimidating, but is the biggest sweetheart of a dog I have ever had! He has been such a blessing to me in so many ways.

Three months before I got Coal, I lost my beloved German Shepherd (Anka) to cancer. My heart was empty and I craved that special bond again.

Thats when I saw Coal. I first saw him on and was on the Urgent List, well that was Christmas Eve and I was on my way to NY for 2 days. I surely thought he would still be there through Christmas and I would call to get him when I got back. Well, to my distress he wasn't on petfinder anymore! I was heartbroken thinking he was put to sleep, but hopeful that a rescue group had taken him. So for the next 2 weeks I checked petfinder daily to see if he would come back up and one day he finally did (under a different name and pictures) but I knew it had to be him! So I immediately emailed the foster parent who kept him and the rest was history.

Coal has absolutely filled that empty space! He is my big baby! He follows every footstep I take and goes just about everywhere with me.

We have 4 dogs and Coal has by far rose to the top for both my boyfriend and I. Of course we love them all dearly but Coal is just so dang sweet and funny and wants your attention all the time. Those big paws batting at everything, jumping on our bed for morning kisses and hugs, bringing balls to me for hours in a row for me to throw! Seriously! I'll be working on my laptop on the couch and he'll bring that ball to me over and over again, if I ignore him, he'll bop me one with those paws! He's such a goof!

I can't thank you all enough for saving Coal from the pound!
