Angel came into my life at a time in my life when I needed her. I know in my heart God placed Angel with me. About three years ago I lost my beloved poodle under tragic circumstances. I was devastated. I came across the “Animal Placement Bureau”. The dog I wanted was in the process of being adopted. I wrote Julie who told me about a Pet Parade in East Lansing in Frandor. I did not find any dog that I really connected with. I was about to leave when a gal pulled out Angel a small white toy poodle from her crate. I held her Angel close and tears came down from my cheeks. I knew that this was the dog. I met Cheryle and Julie what great people.

I adopted Angel. She was a puppy mill dog with tattooed numbers in her ear. She spent her entire life in a cage. When I adopted her she did not know how to go down or up stairs. Until she watched Marcel (My other toy Poodle) did she finally learn. After all Angel been through she showed such love. She followed me everywhere and would dance for her favorite food. She was truly a blessing.

I had Angel for about 3 years when she developed a very bad order. I thought she had a tooth infection, so did the vet. But her blood test came back with devastating results. She was in kidney failure. The vet put her on a special diet, I bought bottle water for her and she also had oral medicine. My wife was a nurse and would give Angel her I.V’s. I thought we could get her over this hump she would be OK. I did not know that Kidney failure was chronic and Angel slowly went down hill. She stopped eating and would fall over. She passed at the vet’s office.

This is the last picture of Angel she passed one week later. I took her with me on my vacation to run over the Mackinaw Bridge.

I will never forget Angel and miss her dearly. I thank God for letting me have her for those three blessed years. I run races and I write “Angel” on all my bib numbers.
