New Year's Eve, 2006

Day 10: Jan 3, 2007 More sight seeing.
Austin visits Redondo Beach with Danny, another new doodle arrival.
Note that Austin is shown in an off lead sit/stay in one of the
pictures below.
Amazing what a little daily training can accomplish in a short time.

Just a quick email to let you know how proud I
am of Austin. He is sooooo smart he amazes me everyday. He learns
things at such a fast pace it is truly remarkable. I started
teaching him what we call a "head down". This is where when they are
lying down I say "head down" they put their head on the ground or
really anything that might. I just finished a training session with
him and he is doing it! After 2 days. He is running to his mark from
8-10 feet away. I think he has only been in training for about 7
days or so now. All I can say is WOW!
Thanks for realizing his potential and sending him to me.
I can't tell you how much I love him. He is my very special boy.

January 7, 2007
Just a quick training up date on my very
special boy. He has moved from the big block mark to the smaller
bean bag mark which is flat to the floor. He picked up the
transition in just 10 minutes! I can send him to his mark from 15
feet away now. We are going to add a second mark tomorrow. He also
started a "foot" which is what we a dog doing a sort of wave. He
will eventually learn a "foot" and "paw", which is both right and
left paw.
I think of all my new dogs he is one of my favorites, he is such a
good boy. Completely housetrained, no accidents at all. His drain
should come out tomorrow.

Austin meets his first star.

Austin continues his star-in-training lessons by going out on a job one of the other dogs had in a Verizon Commercial. He is handling the busy environment with all of the people and equipment it takes to make a commercial just fine.
January 24, 2007
Here are some of the pictures of Austin when
he went on my job yesterday. It was for Verizon, and the Verizon guy
was super nice and took pictures with all the dogs, especially
Austin after I told him of his very special plight!
You can see Austin was not scared of any of the equipment, we stood
on a light, next to the grips station, and he sat next to the
storyboards of the commercial they were shooting. He told me someday
that was going to be him boarded in those pictures!!!
Over all, he met tons of people and did very well, another good
experience to add to his record books.
Everyone loved him and thought he was the cutest thing, a star is
born!
