Shannon

Yesterday, I received a very thoughtful card extending condolences from APB members for my loss of Shannon, my first APB adoption. Formerly fostered by Julie O. and Tara, she was my soul-dog Border Collie mix and constant companion in work and play for the past 6 years.. She herded the deer out of my plant nursery and tirelessly worked to keep my nursery free of intruders and keep me company. I am devastated by this loss, but am grateful for the warm wishes and will keep this card in my treasured memories of my perfect girl.

Her passing was totally unexpected, a mystery and I am still inconsolable. Her heart gave out while at the hospital. I buried my sweet Shannon at one of her favorite look-out spots overlooking the nursery where she would watch for intruders and just generally look out for her territory. She was buried with her favorite quilt and knuckle bone with a lilac bush as a marker.

I want to share with you a picture taken by a photographer friend of mine who made the picture into a greeting card a few years back, attached. Credit goes to dear Wayne Pope, copy write 1999. Wayne also grieves at her passing.

Thanks to everyone for your kind wishes and thoughts.
Sincerely,
Barb Peterson
